Triennial Meeting plan taking shape

Communiqué Spring 2009

The time is really moving fast.  By the time you are reading this we will be under 100 days until the Triennial Meeting.   In keeping with our goal of “taking it home”, we have workshops and speakers that will not only be something you can learn from and take back to your Diocese/Parish, but will be fun and are easy to listen to.

Now about getting there.  There are four major airports in the area.  Los Angeles International (LAX), John Wayne Orange County (SNA), Long Beach (LGB) and Ontario International  (ONT).  The closes and most convenient is John Wayne.

The designated travel agent for the Domestic & Foreign Missionary Society is A & I Travel.  They have arranged discounted rates with United, American and Northwest airlines for General Convention.  The discounts range from 5% to 15%.  To take advantage of the discounts your can either call A & I Travel at 1-866-683-8248 or call the airlines directly.  There may be a small fee if you call the travel company.  Make sure you let them know you are booking for the General Convention to receive the discount.

If you call the airlines directly you need the following file numbers to receive the discount.

Northwest #NM2EX, American #A4979AJ, United #585GG, Continental Z code ZFMK agreement BSSOJR.

Super Shuttle runs from all the airports to the Convention Center Hotels.  If you book online there is a 20% discount of published rates.  This is valid July 4-20, 2009.  The code for that discount is Z3XUL.

Approximate one-way taxicab fares:  from LAX $90, SNA $35, LGB $50, ONT $95.

Be sure to check out the web sites for up to date information.  www.nationalecw.org and www.episcopalchurch.org

Grow in GRACE and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

See you in Anaheim.
